I was lucky enough to see the Mario Testino exhibit entitled “In Your Face” at the MFA with my friend G this week. Mario Testino, fashion photographer extraordinaire, who’s name became known after he was chosen to photograph Princess Diana for her Vanity Fair shoot in 1997. Photos so good they can be considered art and museum quality, obviously.
The MFA was chosen for his first exhibit. As you walk down the stairs to the exhibit which encompasses three rooms, you are met by a wall of video screens each showing Mario Testino at work on various fashion shoots. The exhibit is larger than life, brash and fabulous. Mostly color photos, one of my favorites was a little black and white of Mick and Keith, arms around each other in a moment of pure friendship.
I can’t describe the photos, so here’s a taste. Keep in mind, these photos are larger than life!
See you at the bar….
Such famous photos. Looks like it was a great exhibit.
