Bogota Street Art

Like I said, Bogota is big and sprawling.  I will never complain about traffic again.  It’s always a gridlock because everyone drives a car, there is no subway system, and  there are 300,000 little yellow taxis all over the city.  The taxis are yellow Hyundai’s that look like a Honda Fit.  The taxi drivers are fearless.  And, you can always get one.

When you visit a new city, it’s important to have a local guide to give you an overview.  That’s what we do.  Then we go back to what we want to revisit or missed.  Edgar, our excellent local guide of Explora Bogota picked us up at the hotel and we spent the better part of a day being given a very good tour and history of the city.

What did I love most about Bogota?   In the following blogs, I’ll let you know.  Here’s the first thing that stood out for me.

The Street Art – is spectacular. Mostly in La Candelaria which is preserved as an historic neighborhood.  The only other place I’ve seen such amazing street art is in Orgosolo, Sardinia.  Here’s a sampling:
